It’s the mission of our youth program to create an environment where kids feel accepted and cared for.  Kids deal with a lot of stress and responsibility.  Our goal is to be a community that supports kids where they are at and it’s our hope they can relax and be themselves.

Our kids are 4th grade and up.  Some of the children involved attend our church but many do not.  All kids are welcome!  Some meetings are held with the group as a whole and during other meetings we split into groups.  There are meetings for 4th-5th graders together and for kids in 6th-8th grades.  Older kids that would like to be involved are encouraged to inquire about helping out with the 4th-5th grade program.

Our group is high energy and fast paced.  They know how to have a good time!  Group building is our current focus so we play lots and lots of games!  We begin with introductions and move to small games or relays and have one bigger game toward the end.  It’s a bit of organized chaos!  At the end of each meeting there is 5 minutes where a leader shares about the bible.  Our goals are to keep it simple, understandable, and positive.  Jesus’ inclusive and loving nature is our focus.  How do we show that to those close to us?  Where do we see this in our community?  What does this mean in our family relationships and friendships?  How do we do this with people in our lives?  How do others show this to us?  Do we feel this when we are together as a group?  We are always open to questions!  Honestly, a few times the kids have left me with big questions I didn’t know the answers to.  It’s a good thing we have such a wonderful and knowledgeable pastor!
